Methods

Narrative review. The authors summarize long-term work on small peptides isolated from organs and tissues and on synthetic di-, tri-, and tetrapeptide analogues. They collect rodent studies of mean lifespan, aging biomarkers, and spontaneous or chemically or radiation-induced tumorigenesis, and they recount clinical applications reported over 6–12 years. No new cohort or assay is generated here.

Findings

The authors report that long-term treatment with some peptide preparations increased mean lifespan by 20–40% in rodents, slowed age-related biomarker change, and suppressed tumorigenesis in the models they review. They discuss possible mechanisms and present clinical-application results from that 6–12-year window.
